It has been the stuff of dreams… and so much so that I haven’t had a minute to even truly process it since releasing Lady Dixon’s Niece on Wednesday morning. I watched it climb the Amazon rankings… slow at first on Wednesday, and then it jumped. It literally leap-frogged into #29, and I was beyond excited. The prospect of a top 20 bestseller had me giddy at close to midnight. So, needless to say, I found it impossible to sleep. Thursday morning … well, what can I say? It was bananas! I had been up, churning the PR machine before going to school to do the day job. I’d checked at 4 a.m., and she was sitting pretty at #29. I was thrilled. Then, a phone call sometime after 7am… it was my sister. You are number ONE! ‘No,’ I said, thinking she had clearly been mistaken. I refreshed. HOLY MOLY! And from that moment on… this juggernaut ride has been insane. I’ve just caught my breath, and it’s Saturday night. I’ve had about 3 hours sleep each night tops…. but that’s mighty fine. Thanks to everyone who has bought Lady Dixon’s Niece. It is the readers who have me in this position. It is the readers I owe it all to. Chele

Chele Crawley is a teacher, a wife, a mother and writer based in the midlands of Ireland. With a background in journalism and print media, Chele has a nose for a story and likes a good yarn.
Chele is currently working on a romance historical fiction series, Of Social Standing, set during the regency era. She is a member of Inklings writing group based in Mullingar, and regularly has her short stories printed in the local newspaper, Westmeath Examiner. In July 2025, Chele Crawley was double longlisted for the Writers By The Sea Literary Festival competition in both the memoir and short story category. Chele's dystopian short story, Clean Cut, recently was published in the 2025 National Science Week publication, Experiment with Words.
Keen to hone the literary craft, Chele spends equally as much time reading as writing as she believes that reading for a writer is as essential as oxygen. Not surprising, Chele particularly enjoy reading romance historical fiction novels.
